Unplug & Unwind

Wellness Retreats Related to Reduced Stress and Healthy Mindset

I've always been a big advocate for holistic living. Holistic means something as intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole. Holistic medicine is when a person is treated taking into account the person as a whole, the mental and social factors that contribute to a condition not just the symptoms of a disease. Everything in our body is connected. When one thing goes out of whack, most likely it was caused by something else that is out-of-tune in the body. Although we may be physically healthy, if our body, mind and soul aren't all aligned and healthy, than we aren't living our best quality of life.

I think integrating holistic living and wellness retreats into every day life can be such a powerful resource to society. Especially right now, so many people are cooped up in their homes, interacting with technology 24/7, and constantly in the hustle and bustle of every day life, many do not even realize how their habits and lifestyle can lead to an unbalanced mind body and soul. Not to mention everything happening in our world is unsettling. Disease, murders because of the color of someones skin, and just so much hatred, we all need a little wellness and sense of healing and love.

If you're someone that feels all the transitional energy in the world and you have feelings of unrest and anger, first I totally understand. I'm feeling it as well and don't quite understand it all. But I strongly recommend giving yourself the time and space to heal and unplug. I'm not talking about commercialized spa's and resorts, I'm talking about completely unplugging. Eating wholesome food, gardening fresh herbs, vegetables, and fruit, being around animals and nature, and meditation & yoga type activities. Wellness - promoting activities that lead to grounding and connecting with your inner self and the nature around you. And If you're a business owner, what better way to tell your employees you appreciate and care than allowing them to experience a wellness retreat.

We don't always realize how much our happiness and quality of life is hindered by the stressors around us. This is why I wanted to write about the benefits of nourishing your body and taking that time for yourself. I hope it can be a valuable resource because it's so important!

I am a big advocate for creating spaces of healing, wellness, sustainability and feel-good vibes. Who doesn't love feeling rejuvenated and ready to kick ass and conquer your week? I am a big believer that sometimes we all just need to unplug, connect to nature, and fill our day with wellness-oriented activities.

This weekend, Austin and I booked a little staycation in Leucadia, CA and it was the cutest little Inn & bed and breakfast with the perfect retreat wellness vibe. The retreat was eco-friendly, and they really embodied sustainable living. They even let you cut your own herbs and vegetables in the gardens around the property to bring home!

Some of their amenities included indoor/outdoor living, a wholesome breakfast in the morning, fresh herb bundles to soak in your bath, all filtered fresh drinking water, make your own succulent box to take home, fresh tea, energy healing stones to clear chakras, meditation gardens for yoga and meditation! Here are some photos we took on the trip!

The world needs more love. The world needs more balance. Wellness retreats are valuable to eat better, refresh yourself, break unhealthy habits, unplug and unwind. These are available everywhere, I recommend looking for one near you on airbnb or some other short term rentals and treat yourself to a little staycation. What a better gift than one of experience of well-being!

Sending blessings, Love and Light!
